We recently completed a small residential drive that combined resurfacing (capping) a small section of asphalt, adding a turnout, and extending the driveway all the way to the street. Here you can see the 'before' picture of the section next to the house.

The existing asphalt has been cleaned up and base rock (called 'pug mix', a crushed rock with lime added to help it harden) has been laid out to support the new asphalt that we will be adding

All complete! You can see that the cap and new asphalt are now a seamless whole and how much new asphalt makes the whole property more attractive.

Maintenance recommendation

Your new asphalt should be coated with asphalt emulsion within 6 to 12 months to seal out water and prevent cracks from forming. We can do this work or we can recommend several independent contractors in the Tri-Cities. I use and recommend sealer from Bristol Asphalt Products, a local distributor.
